Innovative Leisure, a leading supplier of adventure attractions, has announced the opening of a new Sky Trail high ropes course and climbing tower at Mote Park Outdoor Adventure in Maidstone, England.
Innovative Leisure is proud to open a new Sky Trail installation at Mote Park Outdoor Adventure. Visitors can now enjoy a high ropes course which has two levels and takes guests above a dinosaur-themed mini-golf course. They can also test themselves on a new 10m tall climbing tower.
The attraction is located in Mote Park, Maidstone, and is part of a regeneration project by the local Borough Council, in order to increase visitor numbers to the leisure area. The park, which sees over 1 million visitors every year, will soon also be home to a new visitor centre and cafe. A new playground already opened earlier this year.
Mote Park
The park encompasses 460 acres of land and includes a large lake with a watersports centre and a leisure centre. By adding new attractions such as the high ropes course and climbing tower, the local council intends to make Mote Park an all-day visitor destination packed with different activities for the whole family.
The Sky Trail course can take 47 people at a time. It also has an overhead continuous belay system, which enables high throughput. Participants can overtake others on platforms, meaning they can explore the course at their own pace. They are also free to choose their own path around the high ropes course. It is suitable for those new to climbing and those who like to challenge themselves. Visitors can return to take on different and more challenging parts of the course as well.
The climbing tower supports four climbers at a time. It reaches a height of 10m and guests can challenge themselves to reach the top. Climbers are supported by hydraulic auto belays.
Bringing the area to life
Fran Wallis is the Local Economy Project Officer for Maidstone Borough Council. She says, “The Sky Trail high ropes experience is exactly what we wanted in this area to bring it to life. It complements the other play offers and appeals to a wide range of age groups. We recently took part in a corporate session and it proved popular amongst my colleagues. The council has been very happy with the support and advice received from Innovative Leisure over the years they have been involved in designing, planning and installing the equipment. They have also assisted Serco, our operating partner, with specialist staff training.”
James Reynolds, Serco Leisure’s Contract Manager for the facility adds, “We’re delighted with Mote Park Outdoor Adventure Zone. It’s been a pleasure supporting the council with its vision and working with the guys at Innovative Leisure to get the facility built and up and running.”
The Manging Director of Innovative Leisure, Phil Pickersgill, says, “About six years ago MBC approached us with the idea of the Mote Park Outdoor Adventure area. It has been a pleasure to support them along the journey to final completion of the facility. It is also wonderful to see this open now and being enjoyed by the local community.”
Innovative Leisure recently installed new Sky Tykes junior ropes course at Chester Zoo and Center Parcs Elveden. The company also worked on the new Bear Grylls Adventure in Birmingham, UK.
