Jora Vision Lifts Kolmården Wildlife Park to New Heights with Flying Carpets Attraction

Leading designer and manufacturer of themed attractions, Jora Vision, continues to transform Sweden’s Kolmården Wildlife Park with story-based attractions and immersive environments.

The newest addition is Bamses Flygande Matta, a flying carpets ride designed to boost capacity at the ever popular Bamses Värld zone.

The Dutch company has also created a new richly-detailed guide map for the park (above).

Jora Vision has a long history of working with the Wildlife Park. The collaboration began in 2011 when it designed the queue and loading station for the park’s Safari ride.

The company went on to create Bamses Värld (World of Bamse) in 2015 which proved to be a significant turning point in the park’s fortunes. Based around Sweden’s iconic bear character, Bamse, the richly themed environment includes a host of Bamse attractions including a roller coaster and candy store.

The new zone has proved an unqualified hit with visitors, boosting attendance at Kolmården by 40%. Soon after, Jora Vision was called in to add a new ride, Skalmans Luftballonger, which opened in 2016.

New attraction, Bamses Flygande Matta, continues to expand the zone’s offering. Based on a well-known Bamse story, families embark on an adventure in the Orient aboard a magic carpet. Kids can even pilot the carpets via a ‘magic button’. Jora Vision built the temple tower supported by a statue of an elephant. The company also themed the operator booth and queue and provided appropriate props and signage.

Sjors van Roosmalen, Creative Director at Jora Vision, was responsible for designing many upgrades within the park. He said he hoped to continue the ‘great collaboration’.

“To transform an already beautiful park into a place where even more exciting stories are told is a great pleasure,” he added. “Looking to the future, I foresee even more exciting additions!”
