Universal Orlando Resort has revealed a first look of the ride vehicles for the new Jurassic World VelociCoaster.

The theme park released a sneak peek video on its Twitter account on Friday that revealed the ride design for the first time.

It is the first coaster in the world based on the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World IP. Featuring an original story, the ride will take guests on a high-speed chase alongside a pack of Velociraptors.

Ride vehicle details revealed

The new ride vehicles show a high level of detail, with both an Ingen and Jurassic Park logo on the side. There are even claw marks on the front of the vehicle.

The sleek blue and black vehicles promise to be “engineered for the hunt” according to the reveal video.

An extreme roller coaster ride

Universal says that the VelociCoaster will “raise the bar in extreme roller coaster design”. It is designed to thrill guests, travelling up to 70 mph to a height of more than 150 feet.

The new images show that riders will have just a lap bar restraint during this high-thrill ride.

Universal previously revealed that the VelociCoaster will accelerate through two launches. The coaster also features the steepest drop in the park after rising 155 feet in the air.

Riders will experience a zero-gravity inverted stall. This will send them upside down across 100 feet of track. There will also be 12 seconds of airtime and weightlessness.

In August, images emerged online of giant raptors being installed on the new ride.

The new roller coaster is due to open in summer 2021. Universal Orlando Resort has said that more details will be revealed in early 2021.

Senior VP and Chief Creative Officer at Universal Creative, Thierry Coup, recently revealed that there is more to come for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort.
