International leisure and attractions design agency, Katapult, has boosted its skillset with the appointment of three specialists.

They are: multimedia artist, Declan O’Mara; Richard Ninness, who joins as Technical Project Manager, and Andy Charlton, the company’s new 3D Designer.

The move is a response to a rapidly evolving industry and a number of key wins. The company recently announced that it is partnering leisure entertainment group, Future Kid, to design a Cartoon Network themed attraction in Kuwait. Earlier this summer, Merlin Entertainments appointed the design agency to develop event experiences at LEGOLAND Discovery Centres.

“It is important for us to build the specialist skills on our team that the leisure industry really needs,” commented Katapult’s Managing Director and Co-founder, Dawn Foote.

‘We need the best and brightest talent available’

“Our recent project wins, including Merlin Entertainments and Cartoon Network, coupled with our plans for growth, means we need the best and brightest talent available.”

Richard Ninness combines a technical background in engineering with an eye for detail. He joins Katapult from digital souvenir imaging specialist, Picsolve, where he worked on multiple projects at some of the leading attractions in the UK and Europe.

Andy Charlton has over 15 years of experience in architectural and automotive studios creating 3D computer visualisations. He will apply his specialist skillset to communicate the company’s guest experience ideas to clients through 3D visualisation.

Declan O’Mara is the newest addition to the team and specialises in 3D projection mapping, photorealistic 3D animation and immersive live performances.

Prior to joining Katapult, O’Mara honed his skills creating engaging content for the music industry, attracting millions of views. He has toured North America, Canada, and Russia with his live show ‘Invasion:Live’ and worked with Skrillex, Steve Aoki, Hospital Records, OWSLA, Dim Mak and many more.

“We’re really excited to see where these new people will take us!” added Foote.
