A travelling exhibit, “King Abdullah: Values and Wisdom”, has been a great success in Saudi Arabia. Highlighting the late Saudi leader’s legacy and values it has attracted over 5,000 people a day since opening.
“King Abdullah: Values and Wisdom”, the Introductory travelling exhibit of the 2018 King Abdullah Exhibition, recently made its debut at the 31st Al Janadriyah National Festival for Heritage and Culture in Saudi Arabia.
The 50-square-meter collection of artefacts, photographs and videos featured in the traveling exhibit are part of a determined effort to preserve the late Saudi leader’s legacy and promote the values he held dear. The exhibit gives visitors a look at the preparations currently ongoing by the King Abdullah Foundation for a major exhibition in 2018. Following Janadriyah, the travelling exhbition will make its way through 19 other cities in the Kingdom.
Leading exhibtion and museum design firm Jack Rouse Associates (JRA), heritage management agency The History Factory and storybuilders The Brand Experience worked together to create the exhibtion for the Foundation.
Walking with King Abdullah
The experience starts with a three-dimensional map. This shows the route the travelling exhibit will take on its journey across the Kingdom. Inside the trailer, guests will be able to “Walk with the King.” They will view and digitally interacting with more than 500 photographs of the late ruler.
Visitors can then examine a variety of King Abdullah’s personal belongings. These include furniture and artwork. The exhibit comes to a close with “Stories of the King”. Here guests can leave a video message about what King Abdullah meant to them. Since opening, the exhibit has welcomed over 5,000 people a day.
