The Hunger Games:The Exhibition opens at Discovery Times Square this week, the first stop on its global tour.

Based on the films which have grossed more than $2.3 billion worldwide, the attraction features hundreds of authentic costumes and props, the latest in ground-breaking interactive experiences and detailed set recreations across seven galleries: District 12, Tribute Train, The Capitol, Making the Games, District 13, Fan Gallery, and Katniss's Journey.

The Hunger Games:The Exhibition has been created with a number of highly specialist partners including image capture experts, Picsolve and experience design and production company, Thinkwell Group in collaboration with Lionsgate. Global AV experts, Electrosonic, designed, supplied, and integrated the AV system, including projection, audio, video and show control.

"This is an exciting and dynamic initiative growing our biggest global franchise and enabling fans to become even more engaged in the world of The Hunger Games, " commented Tim Palen, Lionsgate Chief Brand Officer and President of Worldwide Marketing. "We've partnered with the leading companies in the event, exhibition and attractions space to create an unforgettable experience that fans will love."

James Sanna, President of Discovery Times Square reports that advance ticket sales have exceeded all previous film-based attractions in the venue’s history.

"We're thrilled to have been chosen as the host venue for the exhibit's premiere, " he says.

Next stop for the exhibition is the Innovation Hangar at the Palace of Fine Arts Exhibition Hall in six months’ time.
