Lionsgate Entertainment World is set to reopen on China’s Henqin Island on June 24. The attraction is offering free admission to healthcare workers, and implementing new safety measures amid the outbreak of COVID-19.

The theme park will offer free admission to thank all healthcare workers, who must show their official healthcare documentation and identification, through December 31.

Lionsgate Entertainment World is one of China’s most technologically advanced theme parks. It uses cutting-edge technology, including virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) in its rides and attractions.

Lionsgate Entertainment World features immersive attractions based on brands including The Hunger Games, The Twilight Saga, Now You See Me, Escape Plan, Gods of Egypt, and The Divergent Series.

Lionsgate theme park reopening at 50% capacity

The interactive and immersive theme park has more than 50 key attractions, and is one of the key features at Lai Sun Group’s Novotown Hengqin on Hengqin Island in Zhuhai, China.

“We’re pleased to welcome our cast members and guests back to Lionsgate Entertainment World and glad we can accommodate the tremendous pent up demand for this type of experience,” said Jenefer Brown, executive VP and head of Lionsgate Global Live, Interactive and LBE.

“The health and safety of our employees and theme park guests is paramount,” she added. “We’ve worked carefully and thoughtfully to implement appropriate measures and procedures to ensure our guests will once again enjoy all of the Lionsgate movie adventures the park brings to life.”

Cashless payments at Lionsgate Entertainment World

Lionsgate Entertainment World’s operational partner Village Roadshow will reopen the theme park at 50 percent capacity.

It will also implement the ‘one guest one disinfection’ policy, ensuring that every VR headset, surface, and ride is disinfected after each use.

In addition, Lionsgate Entertainment World will implement cashless payments for tickets, merchandise, and F&B.
