Lost Island Waterpark is expanding with a $100 million (£80m) theme park. The project, known as Lost Island Themepark, will feature magical rides and attractions.
In a press release, owners Becky and Gary Bertch said the Lost Island Themepark will open in 2022, with construction set to start soon.
The attraction will be located on East Shaulis Road in Waterloo, Iowa, to the south of the water park. It will feature various rides and attractions to immerse guests in a magical land.
“The project will include a variety of rides and attractions designed to immerse guests in the stories of magical lands that can only be found at the Lost Island Theme Park,” said Bertch (via Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier).
“This attraction is expected to enhance the Cedar Valley as a great place for family entertainment.”
The press release also said the Lost Island Themepark will enhance Cedar Valley’s family entertainment offering.
Immersing guests with magical stories
The development will be financed by State Rise, City Assistance, private investment, and other funding.
In more water park news, Cedar Fair recently announced its $261 million acquisition of two water parks and one resort in Texas – Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resort New Braunfels and Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston.
