Luce Group Continues to Grow. New Appointments Announced: Kelly Easterling and Richard Chamblin

Luce Group, the award-winning, New York-based, lighting-design firm, which recently completed designing the lighting for the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, RI and the Jack Nicklaus Room at the United States Golf Association Museum in Far Hills, New Jersey is expanding by adding Kelly Easterling to their team as Senior Systems Designer and continues to grow by promoting Richard Chamblin to Senior Lighting Designer.  

Principal Traci Klainer Polimeni stated:  "I'm delighted to welcome Kelly to the team who brings with him a wealth of experience in lighting and systems design. I am also thrilled to support Richard as he takes his new role as Senior Designer.  Over the last several years Luce Group has been focussing with great success on expanding into the attractions sector.  Our new projects are testament to the skill and creative flair that we bring, drawing on our strong grounding in the theatre and exhibits.  With these additions announced today we look forward to reinforcing our reputation."

Luce Group’s current projects include:  the lighting design for the longest, fastest, tallest roller coaster in Orlando at Sea World and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture both opening in 2016.

Kelly Easterling

Kelly Easterling brings a unique background to Luce Group. Having started his career as a lighting designer, he went on Luce Group continues to grow with Kelly Easterling to work as a Production Manager, Technical Director, and Director of Production. Most recently, Kelly served as the Manager of System Design and Integration for 4Wall Entertainment Lighting in New York where he managed the design, development, and integration of lighting systems for clients as diverse as The Barclays Center, Google, World Financial Center, Maryland Live Casino, The Baltimore Symphony, and The United States House of Representatives. 

Kelly began his career as a lighting designer in the San Francisco Bay area for The Belasco Theatre Company, productions at the Lesher Center for the Arts, and working in Show Productions for Marine World Africa USA theme park (now Six Flags Discovery Kingdom). Kelly also worked on many productions for Arizona Theatre Company, Actors' Theatre of Phoenix, and Phoenix Theatre before moving east to become the Technical Director for Merrill Auditorium in Portland Maine, hosting national Broadway tours, large concerts, and televised events; and then as the Director of Production for The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey where he facilitated the design and production of more than 100 professional, touring, and educational shows.  Kelly’s recent lighting design credits include The Universe of Light show for Nickelodeon Universe theme park at Mall of America, the Drop of Fear tower light show at World of Wonderland theme park, special engagements for Princess Cruises, and the Uprising of Love concert featuring Sting, Patti LuPone, and Billy Porter, and hosted by Jane Lynch. 

Kelly is a member of the NJ Theatre Alliance and Themed Entertainment Association (TEA).

Richard Chamblin

Richard Chamblin joined Luce Group with a background in theatrical lighting design. He brings to the firm theme park Luce Group continues to grow with Richard Chamblinexperience, having lit staged productions and seasonal areas at Sea World and Busch Gardens Parks and Entertainment.

As a theatrical designer, Richard has worked on plays and festivals for such notable theater companies around New York City as Ars Nova, Epic Theatre Ensemble, and the Gallery Players. Regionally, he has designed at Florida Studio Theatre, Asolo Repertory Theatre, Two Rivers Theatre Company and The Barter Theatre. Richard has worked as an associate designer on- and off-Broadway, both in the studio on drafting and paperwork and in the theater supervising crews and providing support. Rounding out his audience-directed experience, Richard was the Lighting Director for two web series.

Richard is a member of USA Local 829, the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) and the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA).
