MediaMation Inc., a leader in immersion entertainment technology, is continuing its collaboration with Sony Pictures and celebrating the release of more MX4D programmed blockbusters for 2019 – 2020.
MediaMation Inc. is proud to continue its partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment to release an exciting range of films in 2019 – 2020, covering several genres. Sony has been supporting MediaMation’s MX4D films since 2013.
Sony Pictures has used the immersive MX4D format from MediaMation for nine films this year, including Escape Room and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Upcoming titles include the highly-anticipated Zombieland: Double Tap, Charlie’s Angels & Jumanji: The Next Level.
Eagerly awaited sequels
Zombieland became a cult classic when it was released 10 years ago. Now Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone are back, along with the original director Ruben Fleischer and writers Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Dave Callaham. Zombieland: Double Tap sees the survivors running into some other humans, as they continue to dodge zombies and adjust to life as a family of misfits. The film is released on 18 October 2019.
Then, Charlie’s Angels hits the big screen on 15 November, with Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska taking on the iconic roles. Directed by Elizabeth Banks, and written by Evan Spiliotopoulos and David Auburn, it sees a world where Charles Townsend’s agency has expanded worldwide, with teams of Charlie’s Angels all over the globe.
Finally, Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas return to the world of Jumanji on a rescue mission but face unexpected trials. In Jumanji: The Next Level, released on 13 December 2019, they must traverse deserts and scale mountains to escape the world’s most dangerous game.

MX4D fun for all
More films are to be announced for 2020. MX4D is ideal for a whole range of different genres, such as children’s films, horror, comedy and action, and can be enjoyed by the whole family.
The immersive experience includes cutting-edge in-theatre effects, such as fog, strobe lights, snow, and rain. It also features full-motion seat effects, wind, scent, water and rumblers. Thanks to the patented armrest, MX4D offers every audience the same experience.

To date, MediaMation has dedicated MX4D cinema auditoriums in 24 countries, with 378 theatres and growing. It recently announced a new deal with B&B Theatres, a leading operator with 50 locations and 426 screens across the United States.
