Leading creator of theming, decorations, lighting concepts and themed attractions, Tema Design by MK Illumination, is to produce a range of character statues for the new Majaland Kownaty theme park in Poland.

Majaland Kownaty, owned by Europe’s Plopsa Group, will be the first in the country to feature the popular Studio 100 characters.

Tema Design by MK Illumination will be creating statues of much-loved Maya the Bee, Heide and Vic the Viking. The Danish company will also be producing further decorative theming elements such as oversized flowers and butterflies to enhance the experience for guests.

Plopsa’s CEO, Steve Van den Kerkhof, described the collaboration as having ‘big significance’:

“As in all our attractions, we seek to create a holistic experience in which every element collaborates perfectly to create an unforgettable experience for our guests,” he added. “This is also the case with our new park Majaland Kownaty. Tema Design by MK Illumination showed great understanding in this vision and our high standards.”

Plopsa Group currently own and operate 6 theme parks around Europe. Construction began on Majaland Kownaty last October. The park will occupy 10 hectares at Holiday Park Kownaty, a 205-hectare recreational amenity located between Berlin and Poznan.

A mesmerising experience

Lars Nielsen, Themed Attraction Manager at Tema Design by MK Illumination, said working with Plopsa was an honour:

“We will make sure to produce the best decorative elements possible so Plopsa’s guests can have a mesmerizing experience.”

It is barely 8 months since lighting expert, MK Illumination Denmark, officially announced that it was broadening its remit to encompass theming. The contract with Plopsa is another step towards establishing its credentials as a leading provider of fibreglass figures to the international market.
