MMI’s MX4D® Technology Delivers “Mass Effect:New Earth” Debut at California’s Great America

News

Leading 4D innovator, MediaMation, Inc. (MMI), has provided its patented MX4D® technology for brand new holographic ride, “Mass Effect:New Earth”, at California’s Great America.

The dynamic attraction, starring characters and settings from the Electronic Arts (EA) videogame series, features immersive effects and a live performer who curates the experience.

The installation also includes sensory mats for the first time. The new safety feature automatically stops the row of seats from moving if a rider jumps off their seat.

"We knew we needed a state-of-the-art motion system to complement the massive 3D LED screens and deepen the immersive aspect of the experience, ” comments Christian Dieckmann, Corporate VP, Strategic Growth, Cedar Fair.

“In addition to having a fantastic range and intensity of motion, MMI’s seats came ready-made with other 4D effects such as water, wind, smell and ticklers. The installation and programming process was also very straight forward, which was a huge benefit on a complicated project like this that integrated so many different technologies for the first time."

Aside from MMI, the team of specialist contributors includes 3D Live, Halon Entertainment, Crescendo Media Engineering, and Electrosonic.

"We fully expect it to draw big crowds and create lots of repeat riders for the experience, ” reports MMI's VP/CTO, Dan Jamele.

MediaMation, based in California, has been providing innovative and visionary technological solutions to the entertainment industry for 25 years. The company is a leading supplier and producer of patented technology for 4D/5D motion EFX theatres and seats and provides turnkey solutions for rides, shows and exhibits across the globe.
