Leading provider of digital safety and maintenance solutions, Mobaro Park has been working with The Danish Association for Amusement Parks (FFD) to bring parks up to speed about the new EN13814 standard.

A decision on the proposed changes is going to a final vote next month, after which the new standard will be implemented in the EU.

Keen to ensure a consistently high level of safety and standards compliance across all of the Danish amusement parks, the FFD decided to pre-empt the final roll-out by asking Mobaro Park to facilitate a number of safety seminars/workshops.

Through examples of best practice, knowledge sharing and drawing on experiences from large international parks, members will be better prepared to comply with the new EN13814 standard.

“We all want the parks to grow with new amazing rides,” says Søren Kragelund, FFD Chairman and former CEO at Fårup Sommerland. “But, at the same time, we have to put safety for the guests, employees and contractors on the top of the agenda. So, the more we can do to secure this, the better. The worst thing that can happen is an accident, and the impact is the same whether the park is large or small.”

An inspiration to all parks to prepare for new EN13814 standard

Mobaro says it applauds the FFD for proactively preparing their members as one unit for the new legislation:

“With our Danish roots and long-time good relations with the Danish amusement parks and attractions, we are honoured to help the national sector set their desired high level of safety across all the attractions,” comments David Bromilow, Director Parks and Attractions at Mobaro Park.

“We really hope that this good case from the Danish industry will cause a snowball effect for other park groups and national attractions associations, as an inspiration to initiate their own actions to prepare their members for the new EN standard – we are ready if our help is needed to facilitate this.”

Mobaro Park is a leading provider of safety and maintenance digital solutions for the attractions industry with more than 30 clients worldwide, including Fårup Sommerland, Chester Zoo, Drayton Manor and LEGO® House.
