Museum Connections offers innovations, insight and inspiration

Museum Connections, the international exhibition for museums and cultural sites, takes place in Paris from 15 – 16 January 2020, and is the international place for museum and cultural site equipment and enhancement.

Museum Connections is held at The Paris Expo Porte de Versailles and features a full programme of professional workshops and conferences, alongside a large trade show floor. After the success of the 2019 event, Museum Connections is now celebrating its 25th anniversary.

In 2019, 340 exhibitors and 4300 attendees took part in the Museum Connections show, and organisers are now looking forward to an even bigger event this year.  Museum Connections attracts professionals from all over the world. In 2019, 35% of attendees came from abroad to take part in the show, which also features 119 international exhibitors.

Discover the latest trends

As digital technology is now a key part of the visitor experience in many cultural centres, Museum Connections has adapted to support this with the inclusion of a MuseumTech space at the event. Here, around 100 exhibitors will be showcasing a range of digital solutions, equipment and innovations.

Attendees can also learn more about the latest trends and explore new cultural merchandising ideas in the MuseumShop area.

In addition to this, there is a full programme of conferences and workshops, led by experts in the field of immersive experiences, technological innovations and museum shops.

MuseumTech and MuseumShop

This year, organisers have enhanced MuseumTech, the show’s area dedicated to new technologies. Over 100 exhibitors will be taking part, introducing visitors to a selection of digital equipment, solutions and innovations.

One addition to the 2020 show is the addition of the startup village, located in the MuseumTech zone, which allows attendees to meet over 30 startups, offering innovative cultural devices and systems. Visitors will also be able to set up free business meetings ahead of the show, thanks to the MuseumTech space’s networking platform.

Museum shops are a key part of a guest’s experience, with an average visitor spend of 10 to 25 euros. At Museum Connections, over 300 French and international exhibitors will present their new products, featuring children-friendly, artistic and sustainable objects.

At the heart of the MuseumShop area is the Museum Connections Pop-up store, designed as a model concept store. Here, guests can see a range of new products, as well as taking advantage of expert consulting on shop layout and merchandising.
