Tokyo Disneyland® Park and Tokyo DisneySea® Park has announced its annual schedule for 2019 including a new Soaring ride, new shows and a new nighttime spectacular.
The announcement of new entertainment and attractions follows news in June that Tokyo DisneySea will undergo its largest expansion to date.
Soaring: Fantastic Flight
The major attraction is based on the popular attraction, Soarin’ Around the World. The ride will open at Mediterranean Harbor in Tokyo DisneySea. The ride at Tokyo DisneySea will feature original scenes and the newest visual images. Guests will fly over famous landscapes of the world, while experiencing the breezes and scents that match the various scenes.
“Song of Mirage”
Starting Summer 2019, this new show will replace “Out of Shadowland” at the Hangar Stage. The show will follow Mickey Mouse and Friends on an adventure to seek out the Rio Dorado (Spanish for “golden river”) and its legendary city of gold. The show will also feature projection mapping.
“Disney’s Easter”
For the first time in two years, the Disney’s Easter event will be held at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. At Tokyo Disneyland, there will be Easter egg characters with bunny ears, known as “Usatama.” Tokyo DisneySea will offer a brand new theme for the event, with a bright and colourful springtime atmosphere.
“Disney Tanabata Days”
“Tanabata,” the Japanese star festival, will be celebrated at both Parks. At Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will be dressed as Hikoboshi and Orihime. “Disney Tanabata Days” will feature traditional decorations where Guests can write their wishes on “Wishing Cards” to be hung at the “Wishing Place.”
“Donald’s Hot Jungle Summer”
This summer event will include a stage show after dark in front of Cinderella Castle for the first time in six years.
“Disney Pirates Summer”
This event brings the Disney Pirates of the Caribbean film series to Tokyo DisneySea. At Mediterranean Harbor, there will be a show featuring Captain Jack Sparrow, Captain Barbossa and other pirates, as well as atmospheric entertainment around the Park. There will be special merchandise, menu items and decorations, transforming Tokyo DisneySea into a swashbuckling world of pirate fun!
Halloween and Christmas
Each park will offer a unique “Disney Halloween” event.
At Tokyo Disneyland, the event will be themed to a “ghost version of Tokyo Disneyland.” At Tokyo DisneySea there will be a brand new theme.
For Christmas, Tokyo Disneyland will be themed to “pop-up storybooks full of the Disney Friends’ Christmas fun.” A parade will bring scenes to life pages from storybooks showing the Disney Characters having fun at Christmastime. Tokyo DisneySea will feature a splendid, colourful revue presented at the Mediterranean Harbor.
There will also be nighttime entertainment on the harbor waters featuring a towering Christmas tree and illuminations.
“Pixar Playtime”
At Tokyo DisneySea, this special event will give guests a variety of experiences themed to the world of Pixar films. There will be entertainment programs, and interactive decorations.
