Petersham Group and BCI Studios Master Plan New Monte Galala Resort, Egypt

Leisure business consultants, Petersham Group, have been working with BCI Studios on the master planning of the leisure and entertainment aspects of the new Monte Galala Resort on the Gulf of Suez coast, Egypt.

The new complex, sited at Ain Sokhana, is being developed by Tatweer Misr (Ahmed Shalaby Tatweer shown below), with the first phase, covering 500, 000m², scheduled for completion within 3 years.

Petersham Group were tasked with identifying an appropriate and market-leading range of leisure, sport and entertainment experiences to attract visitors and create a distinctive identity and character for Monte Galala.

The resort, inspired by Portofino, Italy, will ultimately cover 2 million square metres, divided into a series of neighbourhoods, each defined by their distinctive architecture.

The first phase will comprise the ‘Old Town’ of townhouses, villas, commercial centre and public amphitheatre, 4* hotel and the ‘Corals’, a boardwalk complex offering a wide range of water sports, cafes and restaurants and a beach club.

Positioned at the top end of the market, Monte Galala will offer international standard hotel accommodation, luxury residences, a mountain-top spa retreat and a wealth of sporting and leisure facilities.
