Picsolve announces purchase of current technology partner, Panora.me

Picsolve, a leading digital content capture partner for visitor destinations, has announced the purchase of Belgium-based start-up Panora.me.

Picsolve is pleased to announce the acquisition of Panora.me. The news comes one year after the exclusive strategic partnership between the two companies began. During this time they have collaborated on innovations such as Epic Selfie and Super Selfie.

The Epic Selfie is a new addition at the Coca-Cola London Eye, and the Super Selfie has been entertaining visitors at some top US attractions including the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida and LEGOLAND Florida Resort.

This new deal will include the creation of Picsolve’s first innovation and creativity hub, called Picsolve Lab, a centre for developing unique new capture technology, by bringing together world-leading market expertise.

Introducing Picsolve Lab

At the Picsolve Lab innovation centre, there will be a dedicated team, responsible for researching and developing cutting-edge capture technology. Picsolve, a world-leader in photo and visitor capture, will continue developing products that will revolutionise visitor experience as well as delivering the best solutions for its partners. All new product innovations created by the Picsolve Lab team will be integrated within Picsolve’s new digital platform, which is already in use at 20 destinations across the globe.

David Hockley, CEO at Picsolve, said: “We are excited for Panora.me to become the heart of capture innovation at Picsolve. The acquisition will superpower our research and development capability ensuring we continue to exceed visitor expectations. In the creation of Picsolve Lab, a bespoke initiative that is unique in the marketplace, we demonstrate our commitment to global growth through continued innovation. I’m excited to see what new technologies our dedicated experts within the newly formed Picsolve Lab team will deliver.”

Raphaël de Borman, Founder at Panora.me and head of Picsolve Lab, said: “In the year since we started working with Picsolve, we’ve been able to deliver capture innovations including Epic Selfie and Super Selfie which have proved extremely successful for our partners. Our alignment of vision and drive to innovate within the market makes Picsolve a great fit for us. We will help fuel Picsolve’s expansion into new markets, and further strengthen our position as a force to be reckoned with in photo and video capture.”

Panora.me also runs a successful events business, which saw the company provide its Super Selfie technology to support partners with over 50 brand activations at events across the world. This will be managed under the Picsolve Lab team.

Epic Selfie and Super Selfie

The Coca-Cola London Eye was the first destination to introduce the Epic Selfie. Guests at the popular London attraction can now enjoy the experience while queuing. It creates a high-quality video that zooms out from the capsule to show the London Eye and the UK capital, which guests can share with friends and via social media.

The Super Selfie is a unique take on the ‘Selfie’ trend. It combines a selfie of the visitors with a backdrop of any destination, which begins with a close-up and then zooms out to show the full panoramic scenery. The Picsolve Lab team is located in Brussels, where they are working to develop the next piece of capture innovation.

Earlier in 2019, Picsolve announced a new partnership with Merlin Entertainments. The company secured a five-year deal to provide images at five of Merlin’s London attractions.
