Plopsaland, the popular Belgian attraction has revealed plans to transform its De Boomstammetjes water ride into a dinosaur themed attraction.
The announcement comes two weeks after Plopsaland De Panne announced plans to transform the Wizzy & Woppy zone into a K3 themed land. The existing Rollerskater and the accompanying restaurant will be given a K3 overlay.
De Boomstammetjes will also receive a complete renovation. Wim Wauters, Park Manager, said: “De Boomstammetjes, an attraction that, like the Rollerskater, dates from the Meli Park era, also needs a thorough refresher.”
Plopsa Group CEO, Steve Van den Kerkhof, said: “We think it’s important to keep on investing constantly, even in the existing areas, so that they stay nice and up-to-date.”
Dinosaurs in Plopsaland
The log flume was built in 1989 and will now be completely stripped and given a dinosaur theme. Van den Kerkhof added: “Given the enormous popularity of dinosaurs with children and after the successful integration of the Dino Splash in Plopsa Coo, it is a logical decision to introduce dinosaurs in Plopsaland De Panne. We are convinced of the continued popularity of dinosaurs with children. We also have plans to work on this theme in the context of schools and educational projects.”

Visitors will sail through a prehistoric landscape and see life-like moving dinosaurs. The renovation represents an investment of 5 million euros and opening is planned for the summer of 2019.
