onePULSE Foundation has announced the design team for the National Pulse Memorial & Museum, which will honour the 49 people who were killed in the PULSE tragedy in 2016.
Coldefy & Associés will lead the design, working in collaboration with RDAI and HHCP Architects, as well as Xavier Veilhan, dUCKS scéno, Agence TER, and Professor Laila Farah.
The design team’s concept design will be a starting point, rather than the final plan. Over the next year, Coldefy, RDAI and HHCP will refine the designs following community feedback.
“The National Pulse Memorial & Museum will honor the 49 lives taken and all those affected while also educating visitors and future generations on the profound impact the tragedy had on Orlando, the US and the world,” said Barbara Poma, onePULSE Foundation CEO.

The design concept features a reflecting pool around the Pulse building. In memory of the 49 victims, 49 colours will line the basin, while the garden will be planted with 49 trees.
The design also includes an open-air museum and educational center with vertical gardens, public plazas, and a rooftop promenade.

In September, onePULSE Foundation purchased a 1.75-acre parcel of land for $3.5 million. Located at 438 West Kaley Street, the land will house the museum and education center.
onePULSE Foundation plans to build the National Pulse Memorial on the site of the Pulse nightclub. The National Pulse Memorial & Museum is scheduled to open in 2022.
