Puy du Fou has released details about the period villages and shows coming to its second theme park in Spain, Puy du Fou España, which is scheduled to open in March 2021.

Puy du Fou España opened with the new show ‘El Sueno de Toledo’ in September 2019. It has welcomed more than 120,000 viewers over two seasons.

The full 30-hectare theme park will open on March 27, 2021. There will be four spectacular shows and four authentic period villages.

The four daytime shows, which run for around 30 minutes, will feature special effects, stunts and extraordinary sets, and take visitors on a trip through Spanish history.

El Ultimo Cantar (The Last Song) is set in the 11th century and follows the exploits of ‘El Cid’ (Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar), a Castilian knight and warlord in medieval Spain.

A Pluma y Espada (By Feather and Sword) is a light-hearted swashbuckling adventure based on Spanish playwright, poet, novelist and marine, Lope de Vega.

Cetrería de Reyes (Falconry of the Kings) takes audiences back in time to the Caliphate of Cordoba, where they meet Count Fernán González, the first autonomous count of Castile.

Allende la Mar Océana (On the Other Side of the Ocean) is an immersive experience set in 1492. Guests take an epic journey with Christopher Columbus.

As well as shows, there will be four period villages with artisan workshops, including El Arrabal, La Puebla Real, La Venta de Isidro, and El Askar Andalusí.

El Arrabal is a medieval market selling traditional Spanish food in 13th century surroundings, while La Puebla Real is a 13th century stone-walled village.

La Venta de Isidro visitors will experience rural life in the Middle Ages in Spain, and El Askar Andalusí guests will enjoy an authentic Moorish camp.

In addition, Puy du Fou España will feature 10 F&B outlets, including restaurants with set menus and tapas bars serving empanadas and patatas bravas.

Earlier this year, Puy du Fou shared a new image of the €230m theme park spectacular to be created at the foot of the Great Wall, known as Puy du Fou Asia.
