Ropes Courses Incorporated (RCI) has announced that it will attend next week’s Ski Area Management (SAM) Summer Ops Camp in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Taking part for a second year, this time RCI will give a live product demonstration at a nearby attraction.

This will be the 11th consecutive year of the SAM Summer Ops Camp. The event takes place from Tuesday to Thursday, September 3 to 5.

RCI was drawn into the camp in 2018 by its casual, hands-on atmosphere. The company will be participating again as a partner and recognised vendor. This will include workshop contributions by sales executive Steve Morse.

In addition, during day two (Wednesday), RCI will invite attendees to a demo activity at the Ober Gatlinburg amusement park and ski area. Those present will be able to observe how an Amaze’n Maze is constructed and hear just how such attractions benefit those operating in the resort industry.

“It will be extremely valuable to have the fully realised maze physically present to display as well as explain the low labour costs, minimal maintenance and theming capabilities associated with the attraction,” says Morse.

The maze located on the grounds of Ober Gatlinburg opened in June 2010. From May to October each year, it averages roughly 44,000 participants.

A maze for all ages

“The majority of our activities are physical in nature and require the participants to be in decent athletic shape,” says Kent Anders, vice-president and co-owner of Ober Gatlinburg. “The addition of this activity provides a much easier experience that guests of all ages can participate in together.”

Paired with or without a Sky Trail ropes course, Amaze’n Mazes can provide even greater revenue streams for venues such as ski resorts. RCI already has a 2-level Sky Trail installed at Gatlin’s Fun Center in Gatlinburg, which was built in 2017. At the SAM event, it will also be discussing new outdoor Clip ‘n Climb offerings ideal for those operating within the resort and camp industries.

Ropes Courses Incorporated has been manufacturing, installing and servicing adventure products since 1989. Its custom-designed offerings can be found in venues including amusement parks, zoos, family entertainment centres, museums, cruise ships and resorts in 33 countries worldwide.
