Ride Entertainment and Six Flags successfully launch Skycoaster’s Sky Sled

Ride Entertainment, a leader in the supply and installation of some of the world’s most thrilling attractions, has revealed its partnership with Six Flags has contributed to the successful launch of Skycoaster’s Sky Sled.

Skycoaster is a thrill ride featured at theme parks around the world, produced and managed by Skycoaster, a division of Ride Entertainment.

The new Skycoaster Sky Sled has now debuted at Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Great Adventure, and Six Flags Mexico.

“Last year, Six Flags had told us they wanted to be the first theme park to premiere the new Sky Sled,” said Lance Beatty, managing director of Skycoaster.

“We were happy to oblige as they have been a fantastic partner for decades. Today, to see a Skycoaster at nearly every Six Flags property is truly incredible.”

The Sky Sled invites guests to fly in a seated position as they take in the sights from the top of a launch tower.

“It’s a ton of fun,” added Mark Rosenzweig, managing director of business development. “In California, you look out over a ton of thrill rides and at the Texas property, the stadiums of Arlington’s entertainment district make up the skyline so there’s a lot of exciting things to take in.

“Six Flags says that ‘innovation is in their DNA’ and we couldn’t agree more. They were an early Skycoaster client and continue to offer new thrills for their guests.”

Over the past ten years, Skycoaster has designed a new structure for the ride, and worked with lighting partner, KCL Engineering, on a programmable LED lighting solution.

The company has also developed an approved self-editing video system with a new video partner, debuting at 2019’s Skycoaster Safety Seminar.

Meanwhile, SeaWorld San Diego has welcomed a new roller coaster, Tidal Twister. The first Skywarp Horizon from Skyline Attractions was delivered to the attraction in partnership with Ride Entertainment.
