Ripley’s Believe It or Not! – Back on the Radio for the First Time Since 1947

News

Ripley Radio – An On-Demand Oddcast picks up where Robert Ripley left off 62 years ago.

For the first time since Robert Ripley signed off his CBS Radio Show in 1947, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is back on the airwaves with a new weekly, hour-long program.

The web-based talk show is hosted by Tim O’Brien, Edward Meyer and Marcia Pikel, and can be heard on-demand, anytime, any day. New episodes
are added every Monday and all shows will be archived for public access.

“Robert Ripley loved telling his stories through mass media, ” notes O’Brien. “He was both a radio and television pioneer throughout the 1930s and 40s. I’m sure he would have been a pioneer on the World Wide Web as well.”

Being on the internet, with anyone with a computer anywhere in the world able to listen and download at their convenience, makes this show as accessible as one can make a program, adds O’Brien. “We are an international company with 30 Believe It or Not! odditoriums in 10 countries and more than 70 businesses in 13 countries. The Ripley’s Believe It or Not! cartoon is still read daily in 42 countries, so it made sense for us to find a way to make our new show available to the entire world.”

"We’re excited that Ripley’s is bringing its unique brand of entertainment back to radio for the first time in 62 years, " said Brad Saul, President of Matrix Media, and creator of webtalkradio.net. "Ripley’s is certainly at the forefront of radio’s future with its Oddcast."

Ripley Radio – an On-Demand Oddcast

Ripley’s new radio hour is a journey through the weird, wacky, whimsical, wild, and totally unbelievable world of the odd, strange and unusual. Each show provides listeners with amazing and absolutely true tales of today as well as unbelievable facts culled from the extensive archives of the company that has been freaking out families for more than 90 years!

The three hosts and their unbelievable multi-talented cast of thousands will report on the latest oddball happenings and current events each week, but with that added Ripley Twist (of course).

The show is an unpredictable and fun-filled hour that will prove beyond all dimensions that Ripley’s is indeed, the global authority on the weird, strange and bizarre.
