RWS wins IAAPA Brass Ring Award for Best Theatrical Production dance

Creators of award-winning custom entertainment, RWS Entertainment Group (RWS) has announced the launch of a Theatrical and Development Department, producing theatrical shows for Broadway and beyond.

RWS-owned Binder Casting is also set to open two new divisions – commercial and film – which will operate alongside the already established theatrical team.

These initiatives represent the latest phase in an ambitious and fast-paced expansion programme.

By gathering such a range services under one roof, the Emmy Award-winning company has transformed itself into a one-stop entertainment solution. Producers looking to save time and money now have easy access to creative development, general management, production management, casting, wardrobe, rehearsal studios and other production services.

The creation of a Theatrical and Development Department will allow RWS to leverage current staff, relationships, brand partnerships, and resources to develop new content and IP for the commercial theatre on Broadway, on the road, and in non-traditional spaces around the world.

Theatrical general management veteran, Joe Christopher, will head up the new department. He will be joined by Jay Binder, who will assume the role of Director of Theatrical Development.

Theatrical and Development Department takes RWS to the next level

“RWS Entertainment Group began 15 years ago in the corner of my apartment, and since launching, we’ve become a leading production company creating Broadway-calibre entertainment and experiences at top resorts, cruise lines, and theme parks,” explains CEO and founder Ryan Stana and COO, Bruston Manuel.

“We’re ready to take RWS to the next level using our wealth of knowledge, key connections in the global entertainment industry, and amazing new talent to create a company unlike any other.”

Founded 15 years ago, RWS has grown into North America’s largest provider of branded stage shows and experiences. The company provides a full-service approach to custom entertainment for clients that range from NBCUniversal and Westfield to Macy’s and Mattel.

“One of the many reasons I joined RWS is because it stands uniquely positioned to develop theatrical projects in a truly innovative way,” comments Christopher.

“The demand for commercial theatre content has never been greater. We are going to innovate the model for how theatre is developed, in order to raise the experience for our audiences, talent, creative teams, clients and producing partners.”
