Safari Thatch

Safari Thatch, leading suppliers of thatch and bamboo materials, will showcase it’s latest products at the upcoming IAAPA Attractions Expo 2017 (IAE) in Orlando.

The company has over 85 combined years of experience and over 55,000 customers worldwide using their materials and products at attractions around the world. Safari Thatch has developed new technologies to enhance ancient materials for the modern age overcoming many of the performance constraints that could prevent their use in themed construction.Made in the USA GrassBUILT Safari Thatch

Safari Thatch have supported the start up GRASSBuilt to develop the world’s first, made in the USA, engineered bamboo building material. Using innovative technology, GRASSBuilt aims to shake up the mass-timber construction industry by using bamboo, the most renewable natural feedstock on earth.

The company is using this material to create flooring, paneling, stair treads and counter tops, and soon will scale up production to larger products like decking, columns, headers, beams and a replacement to cross-laminated timber panels.

At full scale, the aim is to produce solid blocks using a large press to create the most structurally sound naturally occurring building material ever.

In addition, GRASSBuilt’s material has a Class-A fire rating throughout the product, not just as a surface coating. This means the bamboo material can be refinished and not lose it’s fire rating- another first for the industry.

Also being showcased on the stand is Safari Thatch’s Class-A natural bamboo pole. The pole is soaked entirely in the treatment to gain the class-A fire rating throughout the entire product and is the first code-compliant material of its kind for interior applications in history.

A variety of the company’s materials are on show including coloured MDF which uses highly UV-stable pigments to retain it’s colour and TriCoya ExDF, the world’s first outdoor MDF material.

Safari Thatch will be exhibiting at booth #2667 during the show. To arrange a meeting contact Nicholas Wight, CEO, Safari Thatch on nickw@safarithatch.com.

The IAAPA Attractions Expo will take place on 13th-17th November at the Orange County Convention Center Orlando, Florida.
