Scene75 – a new FEC for Cleveland

Scene75

A new family entertainment centre (FEC) that its owners promise will be the Ohio city’s largest yet will open this summer in Cleveland.

Scene75 is taking shape in the former Buehler’s store in Brunswick. The FEC will feature 12 indoor attractions, over 120 arcade games and food truck alley spread over an 80,000 square-feet facility. Previously named Ohio Magazine’s Best Place for Family Fun, the FEC operator already has outlets in Dayton and Cincinnati.

“We cannot wait to open the doors and have all of Northeast Ohio feel what the Scene75 atmosphere brings to communities,” says owner Jonah Sandler.

“Cleveland is big into its food trucks,” says Dawn Meyer, Scene75’s business development manager. “This was a great opportunity to create something Cleveland-like.”

Sandler says he chose Brunswick as a location because it is close to Cleveland, Akron and the interstate highways. His centres typically draws visitors from a 75-mile radius, and the original Dayton location alongside Interstate 75. Hence the name Scene75.

Some 300,000 to 400,000 people a year visit the two existing FECs. Each hosts about 1,000 birthday parties annually. The Brunswick location will have 125 employees initially and open Wednesday to Sunday.

Admission is free, and guests pay for attractions as they go. The line-up is as follows:

  • Go-Karts – $8/$12 single
  • Blacklight Mini Golf – $5 (9 hole)/$8 (18 holes)
  • Spin Zone Bumper Cars – $4
  • Virtual reality – $12
  • Bounce Zone Inflatable
  • 4-D Motion Theater – $5
  • Chaos Room (video game) – $5 (30 minutes) / $8 (1 hour)
  • Valkyrie (4D zombie shooting experience) – $6
  • Laser Tag – $8.50
  • Laser Maze – $2
  • Atomic Rush (coloured light game) – $2
  • Arcade – $0.25-$3.00 per game

After a number of set backs during construction, an opening date for Scene75 Cleveland has yet to be announced. But it will be this summer, the company confirms.
