SeaWorld Orlando has announced that there will be free beer at the park all summer. The event proved successful last year.
Starting May 25 until September 2, from 10.30am until one hour before the park closes, guests aged 21 years and older can pick up one free, 14-ounce beer per day, available at Mama’s Pretzel Kitchen Patio Bar.
Guests at SeaWorld Orlando are also invited to enjoy weekday Happy Hour at 4pm from May 10 through September 2.
Happy Hour will feature buy one, get one free offers on beer, wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages at Flamecraft Bar, Shark’s Underwater Grill Bar and Waterway Grill Bar.
New this year, SeaWorld Orlando pass members are being offered early access to the park’s free beer programme, starting May 10.
SeaWorld recently released its results for 2018, showing growth in attendance and revenue, and a flip from net loss to net income.
Is it all down to free beer?
Improved attendance driving the turnaround has been attributed to pricing strategy, marketing initiatives (including free beer) and new attractions and events.
SeaWorld’s recovery has been ongoing, with high profile marketing campaigns including ‘From Park to Planet’ and popular events like Bier Fest at Busch Gardens.
The recovery builds on a multi-year restructuring strategy. 350 jobs were cut to enable investment in marketing to improve SeaWorld’s public image following 2013 film BlackFish.
New kids’ attraction at SeaWorld
Sesame Street at SeaWorld Orlando opened this spring with a faithful recreation of the familiar TV set along with six attractions, two play areas and a retail shop themed to the 50-year-old children’s television show.
