World leader in leisure and resort transport, Severn Lamb, has been selected to develop and construct The British Postal Museum and Archive’s new Mail Rail ride.

The immersive ride will take visitors on a journey into the past to discover what life was like on the Post Office Underground Railway. Using audio visual displays, this secret part of London will be revealed to the public for the first time in its 100 year history.

“Severn Lamb has extensive experience of projects of similar scale and purpose to Mail Rail, and is at the cutting edge of new technological developments and applications, ” observed BPMA Director, Adrian Steel.

Severn Lamb has nearly 70 years’ experience creating train rides for the leisure industry for diverse clients including Disneyland Paris and Drayton Manor Theme Park. They have been tasked with creating the train and associated ride system for the Mail Rail attraction from design, through construction, to the completion of the project in 2016.

“We are extremely proud and excited to have been chosen as the train and ride specialist, ” commented Patrick Severn Lamb, Managing Director of Severn Lamb. “The chance to design and build a train to allow visitors to experience these practically unknown tunnels under our capital is a unique opportunity. We look forward to being part of the creation of this new and exciting UK attraction.”

Steel adds, “Having them on board will help ensure we deliver a first class visitor experience and we look forward to working with them as we move forward on this unique journey.”
