Six Flags Entertainment Corporation and Riverside Investment Group Co. Ltd are to build a new waterpark – Six Flags Hurricane Harbor- adjacent to the new Six Flags Zhejiang theme park in Haiyan China.

Six Flags Zhejiang, the first Six Flags branded theme park in China, is already under construction.  The theme park will be the focal point of a 30 billion yuan (USD $4.6 billion) resort development on the coast of Hangzhou Bay which will include record breaking roller coasters, attractions, restaurants and retail, as well as areas with theming inspired by Chinese traditions.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor will feature thrilling water slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and a  children’s water play area.

Both the theme and waterparks are expected to open in 2019.

Mark Kane Appointed  GM and Park President

Six Flags and Riverside have also announced that Mark Kane will be the new general manager and park president of Six Flags Zhejiang.  Kane has previously served as park president for Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags New England.

Commenting on the announcement John Odum, President, Six Flags International Development Company, said, “Mark is a proven leader and a trailblazer.  His expansive knowledge of the theme park industry and experience overseeing a massive development project from start to finish is a major plus. Mark’s background, coupled with Riverside Investment Group’s reputation as a premier real estate and tourism developer, will solidify Six Flags Zhejiang and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor as best-in-class global entertainment destinations.”
