Star Trek VR game released by Ubisoft

News
Star Trek: Bridge Crew VR

Video game publisher Ubisoft has launched a virtual reality game based on the original Star Trek TV series.

One of the first big multi-platform VR releases of the year, Star Trek: Bridge Crew can be played against the backdrop of either the USS Enterprise or a new starship, the USS Aegis. As officers of the Federation, players must command their chosen vessel as part of a critical initiative. The mission explores a largely uncharted section of space known as The Trench. Players and fellow crew members must determine the Klingons’ aims in order to secure a peaceful presence. In addition, the game features randomised missions for solo players.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew and Ubisoft’s theme park plans

Star Trek: Bridge Crew is available for Playstation VR, Oculus Rift and as part of a content bundle with all HTC Vive headsets.

Ubisoft is currently targeting the theme parks and attractions industry as a new outlet for its content. Having already licensed a Rabbids dark ride at Futuroscope in France it plans to develop “next generation” attractions, entertainment centres and themed lands featuring this and other IPs.
