Superblue, a new company and venture in experiential art, is launching its first experiential art centre – with works by teamLab, Es Devlin and James Turrell – in Miami on December 22.

Superblue kicks off its launch with ‘Every Wall Is a Door’, showcasing dynamic large-scale installations created by Es Devlin, teamLab and James Turrell, all on view through 2022.

Devlin’s offering is a new immersive environment called ‘Forest of Us’, while teamLab has created a transcendent digital experience named ‘Between Life and Non-Life’. Turrell’s enveloping light-based work is from his ‘Ganzfeld’ series

“Each of these artists provokes us to see our relationship to the world and each other in completely new ways,” said Superblue co-founder and CEO, Mollie Dent-Brocklehurst.

“Collectively they reflect the arc of experiential art as a movement and the remarkable ways that artists are innovating with emerging mediums and placing audiences at the center of their work.”

Located in the Allapattah neighbourhood opposite the Rubell Museum, Superblue Miami can be found in an industrial building with more than 30,000 square feet of flexible installation space.

The venue also includes a flexible programming and events space for talks, performances, and workshops, as well as a shop featuring artist-inspired items and an outdoor cafe.

Superblue is working with other artists, including Nick Cave, Mary Corse, DRIFT, Simon Heijdens, Jeppe Hein, Studio INI, JR, Koo Jeong A, and Rafael Lozano-Hemmer.

Elsewhere, AREA15 has officially opened in Las Vegas, with the experiential art and entertainment complex literally blowing the doors off and ‘unleashing the extraordinary’.
