Popular children's characters, The Smurfs, announced their arrival in Dubai by celebrating Global Smurf Day as they prepare to move in to their new home at MOTIONGATE™ Dubai.
Smurfs Village, the largest of its kind in the world, is one of five zones in the new Hollywood-inspired theme park, slated to open in October.
“Guests of all ages will rediscover their inner child as they join the colony of Smurfs and relive their exciting adventures through immersive rides, unique Smurf interactions, delicious food and so much more, ” commented Guido Zucchi, General Manager for MOTIONGATE™ Dubai.
The zone promises five family-friendly rides and attractions including the interactive Smurfs Studios Tour, Smurfs Village Playhouse – a theatre experience, SmurfBerry Factory – a soft-play area, Woodland Play Park – an outdoor adventure play area and Smurf Village Express – a ‘baby-coaster’.
MOTIONGATE™ Dubai, part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, brings three film studios together: Sony Pictures Studios, DreamWorks Animation and Lionsgate. The theme park will be home to 27 major rides and attractions and 15 themed retail outlets.
The park will also feature popular characters from 13 films including Shrek, Ku Fu Panda, Hotel Transylvania, Ghostbusters and The Hunger Games.
