Blooloop 50 Theme Park Influencer List 2018

We are pleased to reveal the Blooloop 50 Theme Park Influencer List 2018.

Announced in November, the response from our readers was superb, and we have since been taking nominations from around the world. Working with our panel of judges and our colleagues at Omnico Group, we have analysed the submissions and put together a list of 50 of the key people shaping the theme park industry today.

“The Blooloop 50 for the first time will shine a powerful spotlight on all those whose high-voltage creativity is transforming the theme park and destination industry” – Omnico CEO, Mel Taylor

Huge thanks to all of you who voted, to our esteemed panel of judges and to everyone who helped along the way.  Although the list does not claim to be exhaustive (and a lot of really great people missed the cut) it does provide a neat snapshot of the breadth and innovation in the industry today.

We hope you find it interesting. Click here to visit the list.

The process

To put together the Blooloop 50 Theme Park Influencer List 2018, we collated all the submissions received from our readers. The response was overwhelming, with nominations coming from over 30 countries and across a range of roles.

We purposely left the defintion of “influencer” vague. This alone provoked a good deal of discussion within our office. Should nominees be currently influential? Do they even need to be alive to be exerting an influence? Do they even need to be real? Would anyone vote for Mickey Mouse?

The list was reviewed, edited and added to by our judges. This provided an overall score based on their views and the number of nominations each candidate received. We then had our top 50 and within that the “Power Ten”.  The list is presented in alphabetical order within these two categories.

Some of our influencers are perhaps predictable. However, we have also had a really interesting range of people highlighted for their work.  What all our influencers have in common is that their expertise and passion are shaping the theme park industry.

Although the list is geographically diverse, there is not the diversity of race or equal representation of women that could be hoped for.  We hope that this will change over time and look forward to seeing a more diverse list of influencers as our industry develops.

As with all such lists it doesn’t claim to be comprehensive. However, we feel this list reflects the ambition and innovation of our amazing industry.

Nominations will be open for the Blooloop 50 Theme Park Influencer List 2019 in November. If you don’t see your influencer in the 2018, don’t forget to vote next year.
