A new Fashion for Good Experience has opened in Amsterdam using technology to teach visitors about sustainable and circular fashion and innovation.

The Fashion For Good Experience museum tells the stories behind clothes: focusing on both fashion and ethical consumption. The museum uses digital technology to give visitors a personalised journey.

An Innovation Lounge features over 50 amazing innovators who are set to disrupt the fashion industry. The space asks questions such as: How is biodegradable glitter made? Can a dress be made from mushroom roots? How can blockchain technology make the garment production process more transparent?

Visitors wear an RFID-enabled bracelet to collect actions and badges. They will leave with a digital Good Fashion Action Plan.

In the Design Studio, visitors can design their own Cradle to Cradle Certified™ GOLD T-shirt and print it on demand. The maker space will use live projections and digital design technology to allow visitors to interact with the main themes of the Experience.

The Experience has been designed with sustainability in mind. The yarn is made out of nylon waste collected from landfills and oceans around the world. The wood panels are sourced from sustainably managed forests certified and the plastic used in our Action Bracelets and Action Readers is 100% recycled. The bracelets are 3D printed using Kanèsis Hemp Filament, a biodegradable, compostable material that contains hemp waste from industrial processing.

Sustainability is a hot topic for visitor attractions, and Disney is a leading organisation in this field. This summer, the company announced a programme of free education for all employees. And, just this month, the company opened a huge new solar panel facility that can power 2 out of its 4 parks.
