Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea reopen in Japan


Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea have officially reopened at Tokyo Disney Resort. The theme parks welcomed visitors once again on July 1, following closures amid the outbreak of COVID-19.

According to Disney Parks Blog, the health and safety of guests and cast members is a top priority. Tokyo Disney Resort is implementing new and enhanced health and safety measures in accordance with local government guidance.

Capacity will be limited, enhanced cleaning will take place and physical distancing will be promoted throughout Tokyo Disney Resort.

Meanwhile, Disneyland Paris also previously announced that it will begin a phased reopening from July 15 after it was forced to close in March due to coronavirus.

There will be extensive safety measures in place when Disneyland Paris reopens based on guidance from the French government and health authorities.

In December 2019, Oriental Land Co (OLC) shared information about the expansions and attractions coming to Tokyo Disneyland Park.

The latest additions, which include the Beauty and the Beast area and ride, are part of the largest expansion since the opening of Tokyo Disneyland.

OLC shared further information about new features at Fantasyland, Toontown and Tomorrowland, including attractions, theatre entertainment and restaurants.

At Fantasyland, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will come to life in a new themed area, the Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast ride, and shops and F&B.

Fantasyland will also boast the new Fantasyland Forest Theater, while Tomorrowland welcomes The Happy Ride with Baymax, and Toontown gets Minnie’s Style Studio.
