Tokyo DisneySea Park has announced its new ride – Soaring: Fantastic Flight – will open on July 23rd.
The major attraction is based on the popular attraction, Soarin’ Around the World. The ride will open at Mediterranean Harbor in Tokyo DisneySea. The ride at Tokyo DisneySea will feature original scenes and the newest visual images. Guests will fly over famous landscapes of the world, while experiencing the breezes and scents that match the various scenes.
The main show will last around 5 minutes – and two theatres will each have a capacity of 87. The total cost has been around 18 billion yen ($164 million).
The back story will surround the Museum of Fantastic Flight – a centre dedicated to humankind’s enduring dream of flying. The museum celebrates “Camellia Falco” – and a grand tour of the museum includes a magical visit from the spirit of Camellia. Guests then board her latest and greatest achievement – a flying machine called the Dream Flyer.
The new ride follows news in June last year that Tokyo DisneySea will undergo its largest expansion to date.
It comes as one of many new attractions and events announced for Tokyo DisneySea and Disneyland in 2019.
For the first time in two years, the Disney’s Easter event will be held at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. At Tokyo Disneyland, there will be Easter egg characters with bunny ears, known as “Usatama.” Tokyo DisneySea will offer a brand new theme for the event, with a bright and colourful springtime atmosphere.
At Tokyo DisneySea, a special Pixar event will give guests a variety of experiences themed to the world of Pixar films. There will be entertainment programs, and interactive decorations.
