Triotech installs 200th XD interactive theatre at Quebec City’s Méga Parc

Interactive attractions specialist Triotech has just opened its 200th XD Dark Ride theatre, located in its native Canada.

The 8-seat set up can be found at the newly revamped Méga Parc inside Quebec City’s Galeries de la Capitale shopping mall. It joins other XD installations from Triotech around the world, from San Francisco to Shanghai.

“The XD Dark Ride interactive theatre is designed for the whole family and has contributed to our international reach for nearly 15 years,” says Triotech founding president Ernest Yale. “It offers an intense multisensory adventure combined with cutting-edge technology and special effects. We are proud to have set up our 200th XD Dark Ride interactive theatre in Quebec City.”

Installed for the first time in Berlin in 2011 and recipient of the IAAPA Brass Ring award in the best-new-product two years later, the XD Dark Ride integrates the world’s fastest targeting system, curved screen and real-time stereoscopic 3D images with special effects. The real-time images and individual scoring system create a unique dynamic based on healthy competition.

Méga Parc has named its theatre ‘The Cortex’ and it is already proved itself as one of the venue’s most popular attractions; with 17 other rides and attractions inside the park – as pictured above – which reopened on January 18 following a complete CA$52 million (US$39m) revamp.
