Triotech, the award-winning creator of media-based attractions, has provided three new rides for Resorts World Genting’s Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park.

Triotech is pleased to announce the opening of three new media-based attractions at Resorts World Genting’s Skytropolis, an indoor theme park located in Malaysia’s Genting Highlands, 58km north of Kuala Lumpur. The installation includes the biggest Triotech Dark Ride Theatre in Southeast Asia.

The resort is home to seven hotels, as well as entertainment outlets, convention centres and shopping malls. It also boasts two theme parks and attracted almost 26 million visitors in 2018. Skytropolos covers an area of 400,000 square feet and features 22 rides alongside games and VR attractions.

Three new rides

A newly opened feature of the theme park is Sky VR, where Triotech has now installed its award-winning XD Dark Ride Interactive Theatre, with a custom 32 seat room. In addition to this, visitors can also enjoy two of the company’s VR Maze experience, alongside the top-ranked Typhoon simulator.

The attractions include many different media contents, which encourages repeat play as guests have a different experience each time they take part.

“Southeast Asia and particularly Malaysia is a strong growing region and we are happy to bring Triotech award-winning attractions to Resorts World Genting’s unique and innovative project,” says Ernest Yale, Triotech’s Founder and CEO.

“Triotech develops integrated media-based attractions which allows us to offer turnkey solutions and renewable content. This results in fun and immersive guest experiences and a strong ROI for operators.”

“When we were planning our Sky VR area, our mission was to offer world-class, unforgettable experiences, and the latest technology there is in the market, for our guests. We, therefore chose Triotech and we are pleased to have three of their top experiences, with two of them being seen first in Malaysia at Sky VR,” says Edward Holloway, Executive Vice President, Leisure & Hospitality at Resorts World Genting.

The XD Dark Ride Interactive Theatre is an IAAPA Brass Ring Award winner and entertains visitors with a range of exclusive adventures, developed in-house by the company.

Triotech also opened another attraction in Southeast Asia recently, a new Fear the Walking Dead-themed walkthrough experience at Trans Studio Bali. This immersive and interactive adventure combines three attractions in one.
