The tech firm has a presence in thirty countries in the region

Triotech, an award-winning creator of media-based attractions, has recently completed its 100th installation in Europe, with a new attraction now open at Cité de la Voile Éric Tabarly, an interactive sailing museum in France.

The immersive attraction delivers a dynamic experience to visitors standing aboard pneumatic platforms, providing the sensations of a mid-ocean sailing race with special effects.

Triotech’s CL Corp Division managing director Christophe Lucchini says: “We have a strong track record in edutainment for museums, aquariums and tourist attractions. We knew our technology would transport visitors into the experience with this stand-up platform, giving them the sensation they are standing up on a sailboat offshore in a storm”

Spirit and skills

As a simulator-theatre hybrid, the new Triotech attraction comprises ten platforms of two people, in addition to two dedicated sections for wheelchairs. With visitors standing for the experience, the motion and immersion are greatly enhanced as they undertake a speeding tour with the twists and turns of a Vendée Globe sailboat.

Triotech has also included a selection of special effects to enhance the Stand-up Theater including scents, leg ticklers, water, and wind.

Cite de la Voile Éric Tabarly director Jean-Marc Beaumier says:

“In 2021, Cité de la Voile Eric Tabarly and Lorient Agglomeration entrusted Triotech CL Corp Division with the development of the dynamic theatre of La Cité de la Voile in Lorient, offering visitors a virtual immersive experience onboard an offshore racing boat. Throughout this project, we appreciated the constructive spirit, responsiveness, and skills of the teams. This collaboration results in an attraction with innovative technology and easy maintenance.”

“The choice of standing platforms makes it possible to increase the room’s capacity (from 12 to 20 people) and accommodate people with wheelchairs. The effects have also evolved with new boxes that include the diffusion of smells for a total experience.

“After a few weeks of operation, the feedback from our visitors is very encouraging and we are fully satisfied with this choice,” adds Beaumier.

Sailing experiences

Complementing nearby businesses in the international offshore racing centre of Lorient, Cité de la Voile Éric Tabarly has become an iconic destination for visitors to the self-described “Sailing Valley”. Since its opening in 2008, Cité de la Voile has translated offshore racing into a sensory experience, using the latest technologies to create a showcase for the innovative nautical sector.

Triotech Division CL Corporation supports customers from its base near Rennes, France, providing specialist design, production, installation, and maintenance services.

Triotech has also been celebrating the success of its Storm simulator this year, with which the company has reported strong revenues for its FEC clients.
