Universal Orlando reveals entertainment lineup for Christmas 2020

Universal Orlando Resort has unwrapped its lineup of seasonal entertainment for Christmas 2020, running from November 14 through January 3, 2021.

In response to COVID-19, Universal is reimagining its beloved holiday traditions and characters, and is debuting the new ‘Universal’s Holiday Experience featuring Macy’s Balloons’.

As previously reported, Universal is transforming The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

Universal Studios Florida will deck out The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley and London with festive décor and brilliant lighting.

Universal’s Islands of Adventure is also embracing the holiday spirit with garlands and lights over at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s Hogsmeade.

Meet The Grinch at Universal’s Islands of Adventure

In addition, Universal’s Islands of Adventure is offering The Grinch-themed experiences at Seuss Landing, including appearances from The Grinch.

The new ‘Universal’s Holiday Experience featuring Macy’s Balloons’ takes place at Universal Studios Florida and will feature parade balloons and floats.

Visitors will encounter elaborate floats and balloons inspired by festive staples including reindeer and the Nutcracker, as well as Minions (Despicable Me), The Gingerbread Man (Shrek) and the penguins from Madagascar.

Additional attractions include ‘Universal’s Holiday Character Celebration’, with guests singing and dancing along with some of their favourite characters, who arrive on festive parade floats.

The Wizarding World transformed for Christmas

Universal Studios Florida is debuting its first ‘Holiday Tribute Store’ in the New York area. It will be a winter wonderland featuring four immersive rooms, one of which is inspired by The Grinch.

The ‘Holiday Tree Hunt’ invites guests to search for 16 holiday-themed trees at merchandise locations in the theme parks and CityWalk.

Universal’s ‘Holiday Treat Trail’ offers visitors the chance to seek out speciality F&B, and Universal Orlando’s hotels will feature festive flourishes and Christmas trees.

Comcast executives are optimistic that Universal theme parks will break even in 2021, despite revenue in the third quarter falling nearly 81 percent to $311 million.
