Universal Orlando Resort Unveils Details of Harry Potter and The Escape From Gringotts

“Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts will change the way you think about theme park attractions."

Universal Orlando Resort has revealed details about Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts – the new attraction which will be in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley.

The new “revolutionary” ride is inspired by Harry, Hermione and Ron’s escape from the vaults of Gringotts Bank on the back of a dragon after retrieving Helga Hufflepuff's Cup.

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts is a “multi-dimensional, multi-sensory attraction” which includes 360-degree themed sets, 4K digital high-definition animation, state-of-the-art 3-D Infitec projection systems and live special effects.

The ride will feature a 60-foot, fire-breathing Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon; Gringotts bank with goblins hard at work; a race through the labyrinth of underground vault and characters including Bellatrix Lestrange and Voldemort.

Commenting on the ride Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative, said, “Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts will change the way you think about theme park attractions.  We’ve created an entirely new type of ride that propels guests into the story like never before, and guests will remember it long after their visit to Diagon Alley.”

The Grand Opening date for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley has not yet been announced.
