Utopia Entertainment Awarded Design and Production of Beverly Hills Lighting Ceremony For Third Year Running

News

At the conclusion of the Beverly Hills City Council Meeting this week, Utopia Entertainment was awarded the Holiday Décor and Entertainment contract for the third year of "Deck the Hills" for this holiday season. Utopia is also working on new design proposals and plans for the Beverly Hills 2009 Holiday program.

Utopia has also again been chosen to produce the UNICEF Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony. The event will be produced on the legendary Rodeo Drive in the heart of the Beverly Hills golden triangle, with fantastic live entertainment, family activities, and an amazing fireworks grand finale.

"We are thrilled to be working with Beverly Hills again to present a spectacular single, cohesive holiday plan throughout the city, " states Norman Kahn, CEO of Utopia Entertainment.  "And we are very excited as our team starts on proposal plans for 2009 with a new theme, enhanced lighting and a few new surprises."

The plan this year is to enhance the lighting, décor and entertainment from last year’s holiday season.  Continuing from last year, the city will have thousands of holiday lights, 600 colorful and kitschy banners, a wireless audio system delivering smooth Yuletide tunes of Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr., and holiday décor glimmering amongst the palm trees and world class luxury stores. There will also be live entertainment acts roaming the city streets serenading guests with holiday music.  This year the acts will include bell choirs, jazz trios,   brass quartets and many more.

Selected buildings will be decorated with fabric bows, palm trees will be wrapped in miniature lights, and Santa (with his sleigh and reindeer) will be suspended high above the corner of Wilshire and South Beverly Drive.  Utopia and the City of Beverly Hills have also committed to a more "green" holiday season, replacing two full streets of lights with LED lights to conserve energy.

Alison Maxwell, the Director of Economic Development and Marketing for the City of Beverly Hills, stated, "The City is looking forward to working with everyone at Utopia again this year to create a spectacular Holiday Season and Lighting Ceremony."

"Deck the Hills" will run from November 21 to January 2, with the Annual Lighting Ceremony on November 22.  Utopia looks forward to celebrating the season with Beverly Hills in years to come.
