V&A Dundee has put together a cultural care package for students in Dundee and across Scotland, as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases at two student halls in Dundee reaches 98.

“Many of you have moved away from home for the first time to a new city or town,” said V&A Dundee. “We know this isn’t how you imagined your university experience to be.”

“And while it’s a bit tricky for you to visit us right now as part of exploring your new city, we’ll see you soon,” added V&A Dundee.

V&A Dundee visitors have been taking advantage of its online offerings amid the COVID-19 crisis, and the institution has pulled together “bits and bobs” for students.

“We hope to share that early next week in case you could use a distraction.”

NHS Tayside said there are now 74 cases at Parker House and 24 cases at Meadowside Halls. All students at Parker House have been asked to self-isolate for 14 days.

The care package includes a short film introducing Studio Nicholas Daley by Tim Knights, as well as entire programme of The National Arts Club.

In addition, students can listen to the ‘Design as an Attitude’ and ‘Making Glasgow Womens Library’ podcasts, and enjoy the MOOD playlist, curated by its Young People’s Collective (YPC).

V&A Dundee also suggests reading 12 webcomics created by University of Dundee’s Masters in Comics and Graphic Novels students, or playing web-based game ‘Plaything’.
