US-based Apex Parks Group has acquired Martin’s Fantasy Island theme park, located near Niagara Falls in the state of New York.
The park is home to the Silver Comet wood/steel hybrid coaster and loop fighter ride, Mind Warp.
“We’re excited to work with the Martin’s team to continue the successful operation of Martin’s Fantasy Island, ” reported Al Weber, Jr., CEO of Apex Parks Group. “The addition of this beautiful family-niche park is another step toward Apex’s goal of growing to become the leading company in the fragmented out-of-home entertainment business.”
Apex describes the 75-acre Martin’s Fantasy Island as a ‘classic American theme park’. The venue has been operating since 1961 and aims to cater for the whole family with traditional attractions including bumper cars, miniature golf and a train ride alongside a range of thrill rides.
Martin DiPietro, who bought the park 22 years ago, said he chose Apex because he believed the company would ensure the park's continued success:
"Their track record in the family-oriented amusement business is unmatched, " he said.
