Virtuix welcomes Lisa Chapman and Marisa Garris to sales team

Virtuix, developer of the Omni virtual reality treadmill and Omni Arena esports attraction, has announced the addition of two new members to its sales team.

Virtuix

Lisa Chapman

Virtuix is pleased to welcome industry veterans Lisa Chapman and Marisa Garris to the sales team. Chapman will take on the role of National Sales Manager, while Garris is the new Director of Business Development. Between them, they bring over 30 years of industry experience with them to their new positions.

Both new additions join Virtuix from Embed. Chapman was a sales executive with the company for almost seven years, and Garris worked as a sales manager. They will work alongside fellow new recruit Sergio Garcia, who joined the team from Exit Reality earlier in the year.

Belief in the product

Marisa Garris

“Selling a virtual reality attraction wasn’t on my radar,” says Garris. “But when I tried Omni Arena in Austin, I was taken by surprise. It was such a different experience, and I realised this is the future for our industry. The attraction is a turnkey solution from start to finish and gives guests a reason to return.”

Chapman was also drawn by the Omni Arena. “Before I flew to Austin to meet with the Virtuix team, I wasn’t even thinking about VR,” she says. “When I played Omni Arena, I found myself laughing like a little school girl. It’s an incredible product, and Jan and his team demonstrated a willingness to listen, learn, and respond to customer needs.”

A wealth of knowledge

“We’re thrilled that Lisa and Marisa are joining our team,” says Jan Goetgeluk, Founder and CEO of Virtuix. “Given their wealth of knowledge and expertise in our industry, they can truly help our customers navigate the landscape of dozens of VR attractions and provide practical advice on how VR and esports can increase revenues at family entertainment centres.”

The trend for VR attractions and immersive entertainment shows no sign of slowing, and Virtuix is ready to keep up with demand. “Now that it’s been proven VR isn’t a just another fad, the demand for VR is accelerating,” says Goetgeluk. “I’ve been watching this trend develop for six years. I’ve never seen the volume of calls and inquiries we are getting now. Three to four customer groups each week are visiting us in Austin to see and experience Omni Arena. That’s why we needed to expand the size of our sales team.”

The Rockin’ Raceway at Pigeon Forge is amongst the latest venues to introduce the Omni Arena esports attraction, providing its guests with cutting-edge virtual reality experiences.
