The Voletarium wows industry high-flyers during Europa-Park tour

Europa-Park played host to a group of movers and shakers from the international theme park industry following the Euro Attractions Show (EAS) in Berlin.

Representatives from the world’s leading theme parks (including Walt Disney Parks, Universal Resorts and major parks in Asia) were treated to a comprehensive overview of Germany’s biggest theme park and its plans for the future.

Appropriately, the high-flyers were given a flight in the park’s major new attraction, the Voletarium. The Voletarium is Europe’s largest flying theatre.

They also got to check out the construction site of new water world, Rulantica.

Other highlights included a tour of the Ireland – Children’s World themed area and a journey on the award-winning themed ride Arthur – In the Minimoys Kingdom. No visit would have been complete without a ride on the park’s signature Alpenexpress Coastiality which combines virtual reality (VR) with the live coaster experience. This year, visitors to Europa-park during the Hallowe’en season can select from three different VR animations from MackMedia.

Among the guests were Paul Noland, the current IAAPA Chairman Greg Hale, his successor Andreas Andersen, and their colleagues. According to the park, they were particularly impressed by the park’s 450,000 square metre expansion. This is the site of the 4-star themed superior hotel KrønasÃ¥r, as well as the new water world.

“From the end of 2019, the gigantic water world of Rulantica, with its elaborate Nordic theme and its 25 exciting water attractions, will guarantee an unforgettable adventure for the whole family,” explained MackMedia CEO Michael Mack.

“In addition to Europe’s most popular theme park, our sensational water world will attract visitors all year round.”

Europa-Park is a family-owned, multi award-winning park located in Rust, Germany. The company has just signed a deal to bring one of the world’s most loved bears, Paddington, to the park as a key attraction in its England-themed area. Paddington themed offerings are set to include a virtual reality (VR) ride and the first ever Paddington-based ice show at the park.
