Voting now open for first-ever UK Theme Park Awards

The UK Theme Park Awards 2020 will celebrate the top parks in the country, and the public vote is now open.

For the first time, the UK public will have a say on their favourite attractions as voting begins for the inaugural UK Theme Park Awards. The national awards will highlight the best theme parks in the country, with categories such as Theme Park of the Year, Best Value and Best Accessibility.

Theme park fans across the UK can vote what they believe are the best rides, attractions, shows and events, as well as recognising those parks with quality customer service, good value and excellent accessibility.

Celebrating the best parks in the UK

The awards are sure to bring some cheer as attractions begin to open their doors once more following the COVID-19 pandemic. They are being run by ThemeParks-UK.com, an independent guide to UK theme parks, which will also be celebrating its 20th birthday this year.

In addition to the public vote, an expert team of judges will have input on the final results. This includes Paul Kelly, Chief Executive – British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions; Andy Hine MBE, Chairman – Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain; Paul Burton, Chairman – European Coaster Club; Charles Read, Managing Director – Blooloop and Lawrence Roots, Editor – ThemeParks-UK.com.

Amongst the contenders are Alton Towers, Drayton Manor, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, LEGOLAND Windsor, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Paultons Park, Flamingo Land, Lightwater Valley, Oakwood Theme Park, Fantasy Island, Adventure Island and Dreamland Margate.

The 20 categories are:
