Walt Disney World offers personalised merchandise with MADE

Disney

Disney is expanding its offerings of personalised merchandise with the release of MADE at D-Tech on Demand stores around Walt Disney World.

Disney Springs has offered guests at Walt Disney World a wide variety of shops to choose from since its opening in 2014. One of the original shops, D-Tech on Demand allows guests to customise their phone cases, MagicBands and more. Over time the personalised options have expanded to include everything from a hand-painted Christmas decoration to embroidered Mickey Ears.

Disney is now expanding its personalised offerings with MADE. Using a library of artwork from Disney, guests will now be able to create their own Disney apparel. This will allow guests to personalise apparel to celebrate their birthday or special family holiday.

It’s a simple and easy-to-use process. Guests chose the item they would like, such as a t-shirt, and then chose their preferred Disney artwork and colour. They can then add their name, and the item is ready to collect in a few hours. It can even be sent to a Walt Disney World resort room or shipped home.

MADE will be available at several D-Tech on Demand locations across Walt Disney World, such as in the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs and Tomorrowland Light & Power Co in the Magic Kingdom Park. Disney plans on adding new designs and art throughout the year to provide a wide range of options for guests.

Retailtainment Technology

This new offering from Disney is a good example of retailtainment technology. This trend is on the rise as visitors expect state-of-the-art technology in every aspect of an experience, even the merchandise.

Disney recently announced that the Disney Channel Fan Fest is expanding to include Walt Disney World from May 2020. Guests will now be able to meet stars from the Disney Channel at Disneyland and Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival.
