Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi reveals ride details

News

Visitors to Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi will be able to enjoy a Justice League dark ride, a 4D flying theatre featuring Green Lantern and a Tom and Jerry-themed spinning coaster.

Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi has revealed further details about the attractions in two of its six themed lands. The first, Metropolis, is themed on the Manhattan-like city that is the home to Superman. The second is Cartoon Junction and will feature characters from Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera.

Metropolis

In Metropolis guests will find Superman 360 – Battle for Metropolis, which the park describes as “a pulse-pounding attraction that features the Man of Steel in a riveting battle of good versus evil that will decide the fate of Metropolis”.

The area also includes a recreation of the Hall of Justice, which will feature the Justice League – Warworld Attacks dark ride. It will tell a story of the Justice League fighting off invaders from another galaxy using immersive media and special effects.

Other attractions in Metropolis include Green Lantern – Galactic Odyssey, a 4D “flying theatre” that uses multi-sensory special effects to transports riders across the cosmos. There is also the Teen Titans Training Academy, a multi-level play area featuring a zipline and other physical activities.

Cartoon Junction

Visitors to Cartoon Junction will find the area populated with animated characters including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Sylvester, Tasmanian Devil and Elmer Fudd.

It has nine family-friendly rides and attraction including Tom and Jerry Swiss Cheese Spin, a spinning coaster that careens throughout the duo’s house on a fast-moving chase full of twists and turns.

There is also the Scooby Doo – The Museum of Mysteries dark ride that allows visitors to board their own Mystery Machines to follow Scooby and the gang as they uncover the secrets of the museum. The ride culminates in a chase reminiscent of the hijinks in the cartoons.

Other attractions include Ani-Mayhem, an interactive dark ride that takes passengers on a mission to deliver their own cartoon chaos, and Meet Bugs! (and Daffy), a walk-through experience at the vintage downtown theatre where guests can join Bugs Bunny on stage.

The area also houses Cartoon Junction Carousel and the ACME Factory, which features a car ride, a vertical jump tower and a spinning ride for younger children.

Aside from attractions, both areas also have an array of themed dining and retail options.

Mark Gsellman, general manager of Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi, said: “With the park well on track to open its doors to the public within mere months, we are incredibly excited to share our story with audiences around the world, and will be announcing the exact opening date very soon.”

Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi is being developed by Miral in partnership with Warner Bros Products and DC Entertainment. The $1bn indoor theme park situated on Yas Island is due to open this summer.
