News

Two Devon boys have been treated to an exclusive preview of the Weymouth Sea Life Tower.  Charlie and Harry Croker, aged 10 and 8 were whisked off to Bremen, Germany where they were introduced to the Tower’s design team at Jens Hilger HUSS Sales DirectorHUSS Park Attractions Gmbh.  The boys and their parents were then taken to the HUSS manufacturing site in Budapest where they were able stand inside one of the Tower’s massive 10 meter long, 11 ton steel tube sections.

HUSS Sales Director Jens Hilger (see right) showed the boys around.  Hilger says, “The visit was a great success. We were able to give the two boys a glimpse of our design engineering and what it means to manufacture a massive steel tower.”

The Tower’s owners, Merlin Entertainments, organised the surprise trip when they became aware of the boys’ interest in the £3.5 million project.  Weymouth Sea Life Park General Manager Craig Dunkerley explained that the boys got “hooked” whilst visiting their grandmother in Weymouth and are regular visitors to the construction site.

The Weymouth Sea Life Tower will be linked by a land train to Weymouth Sea Life Park.  The 53 meter Tower is set to open to the public in July 2012, offering up to 70 visitors at a time a panoramic view over the Olympic Festival Village and the sailing event course.
